What is the best side by side for trail riding?
If you’ve been pondering getting an SxS for ripping through the trails but aren’t quite sure which make and model would work best for that particular activity, then worry not! We’re here to help guide you through the ins and outs of trail riding in an SxS.
BUDGET
The very first thing you’ll want to think about is how much you’re willing to spend. The price tag for a SXS can range from $10,000 to $39,000 brand new, and it will all depend on the make and model. The CFMOTO ZForce is one of the most inexpensive SXSs on the market today, and we’ve got them in stock for you to check out.
TERRAIN
There are a few more things to consider before you drop the cash to get a new SxS. What type of trails do you plan to go riding on? If you’re running over relatively flat dirt trails, you likely don’t need a ride that’s designed to climb mountain trails or race over sandy dunes. So take the time to decide where you’ll actually be using your SxS. If the trails are changing altitude on the regular, you might want to think about a ride with more horsepower to get you up the hills. The Kawasaki Teryx is an excellent trail-riding SxS that can handle pretty much any trail you think you may be riding.
MAINTENANCE
Once you’ve got a SxS, you’ll have to do regular maintenance on it to keep it running smoothly. You’ll want to look into the cost of getting your ride serviced. Does it have parts that you’ll need to get directly from the manufacturer, or are there after-market parts that’ll work just as well? That can add up in a big hurry, so do your research on any model that catches your eye.
PASSENGERS
You’ll also want to consider how many people you think will be joining you on these excursions. If you’ve only got one friend or partner who isn’t going to be riding their own machine, then a two-seater may be enough. However, if you’ve got your partner, a few buddies, or all the kids coming along, you might want to consider a four- or six-seater. Don’t overestimate your passengers either; if it’s really only going to be you and one other person, don’t stress about having extra seating. Get what works for you.
COMFORT
Once you’ve decided how many people you want to carry, you’ll want to come down to one of our showrooms to try sitting in the SxS. The ergonomics and comfort of the SxS are just as important as everything else—if your legs are too long, or the steering wheel isn’t at a comfortable height, or the seat doesn’t feel right, then riding the trails isn’t going to be much fun. Especially if your legs and back are going to ache once you get home. We will help you find the most comfortable ride so you can enjoy your new toy.
No matter what trail riding SxS you think you may want, we can help you make an informed choice that will best suit your needs and lifestyle.
