Are You Using Your ATV to its Full Potential?

Okay, so you’ve bought your ATV! Congratulations! So, now what? You’ve presumably taken it out for a spin, but what else can you use your ATV for?

Are you using your ATV to its full potential? Well, in this article we will give you a sort of checklist for you to look over to see if you are, in fact, using your ATV to its fullest potential.

Working in the forest
When working in the woods, your ATV can be used as a way to collect things such as logs by attaching a skidding arch for your transportation needs. Or you can hook up a trailer for larger objects like rocks or small trees. A small wood splitter can also be hooked up to your ATV or even a crane. These aren’t cheap but they will help to clear brush quickly and easily.

Farming
Blowing, cultivating, raking, hauling, tilling, planting can all be done with your smaller ATV as opposed to a tractor. With the correct accessories hard work can be made a whole lot easier with the assistance of your ATV.

Landscaping
Your ATV, again, can be used as an alternative to your tractor when it comes to making trails and pathways, grading, leveling and grooming any large landscapes you need help with. Sure an ATV is purchased for off-roading and exploring the great outdoors, but on those days spent around the yard, be sure to utilize your ATV to its fullest potential.

Snow Plowing
Depending on how much of a snow dump you get in the winter, consider using your ATV as a way to clear your driveway and, while you’re at it, you can score some points with your neighbours by plowing their driveways! Snow shovels can be used but why bother when you can use your ATV and be done in minutes?

Camping
Can you take your 4×4 truck into the deep woods with your camper? Not always, so consider using your ATV as a way to carry your camping gear up into those hard to reach campgrounds.

Winching
Your machine is likely equipped with a winch. Hopefully you never need to use it, as that would mean you had to drag or pull something heavy, but it’s a great and important option to have in case the need arises.

Lawn Mowing
Speaking of pulling stuff with your ATV, if you have a lot of ground to cover (literally) when mowing your lawn, you can hook up a lawn mower to the back of your ATV and proceed to cut that grass! If you don’t have a ride-on mower, this is a great alternative! Same goes for lawn raking as well, be sure to do this safely, there are many tips and tricks guides online to ensure you are putting safety first.

Search and Rescue
Hopefully you will never need your ATV for this kind of use, but in case you do, your ATV can come in handy when it comes to being an effective way to search off road areas as they can maneuver through places other vehicles cannot. ATV’s are often used as search and rescue by state park and police and you can help in this regard.

Other uses include big game hunting, ice fishing, mudding and transporting goods and supplies…did you know, when you purchased your ATV, that it had so many useful applications?
